Your Best-Loved Olympic Heroes, Then and Now

It’s probably safe to say that every single one of us had our own Olympic heroes when we were kids. The kinds of athletes that literally rule the world in their chosen field, tower over the competition and earn their rightful place in the history books. We wanted to be like them, we practically worshipped them and they entertained us fantastically.

The question being…where are they now?

While some of our gold-medal heroes from decades gone by have long-departed competitive sports, others are going stronger than ever. And of course, some have hung up their sneakers to step into the shoes of coaches, trainers, mentors and so on. But the one thing that hasn’t changed a bit over the course of time is their legacy. Their legendary status.

So with this in mind, we thought we’d take a look at some of our best-loved Olympic heroes then and now. Just to give you an idea of what the best of the best are doing right now, compared to what they were getting up to back in the day:

She retired in 2016 and has been pretty quiet on the scene ever since. Next up > Nadia Comaneci
