Introducing the (Almost) Unbreakable Moto Z2 Force

It’s the kind of problem that’s plagued millions of smartphone users since the day the devices were invented.  That being, what happens when you accidentally drop your shiny new phone, face-first and from a height of more than about 5cm?

The answer of course being – it’s game over for your screen.  The newer the device, the more expensive the required replacement – often hundreds and hundreds of dollars, simply for being butter-fingered.

And that’s exactly the problem the Moto Z2 Force has set out to solve.  Shortly set to touch down in the United Kingdom, the Moto Z2 Force features a 5.5-inch, 2,560 x 1,440 screen, which is protected by “ShatterShield” technology.  If you’re not already familiar with ShatterShield, it’s essentially an advanced screen protection system that makes it almost impossible to crack, shatter or destroy your phone’s screen.

Literally – you can throw this thing at just about anything and it isn’t going to break.  Which is reassuring to say the least, given the fact that it is a £700+ mobe we’re talking about!

Introducing the (Almost) Unbreakable Moto Z2 Force

So the one thing you can say about the Moto Z2 Force for sure is that it’s built to go the distance.  That said, the rest of the device isn’t completely immune to damage…nor is it fully waterproof.  Which is kind of a shame, given that advanced waterproofing would have made it perfect for use in all environments and weather conditions across the board.

Which means that despite looking decent enough and packing plenty of power under the hood, you can’t help but feel there’s something missing with the Moto Z2 Force.  Or at least, try it out after spending a few hours with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and you’ll see what we mean.

It’s a great device, but not the kind of gadget that’s going to blow you away.

That is, unless you happen to be terminally clumsily and intend to test the durability of its screen for yourself.  In which case, you might just wonder where the Moto Z2 Force has been all your life!
