Nexus 5 Press Renders Leak in Black and White, Device’s Release Date Rumored for November 1

Nexus 5 Press Renders Leak in Black and White, Device’s Release Date Rumored for November 1The @evleaks Twitter account has been quite a reliable and accurate one, providing timely leaks on the hottest devices, particularly Android phones.  According to the latest from @evleaks, Google’s Nexus 5 flagship phone will come in black and white flavors, while its release date will fall on November 1.

The tipping of a November 1 release date came with a set of new press renders for the Nexus 5, and the addition of a white flavor upon release should be good news for consumers looking for more variety from day one.  Last year, Google released a white version of the Nexus 4, but not only did that device debut later than the black flavor; it was also available on a very limited basis.  Like last year’s white Nexus 4, the white Nexus 5 appears to be black in front, with the back portion of the phone being the only part of the device that’s technically white.  And that’s where @evleaks tipped the November 1 release date – keeping it short and sweet, he accompanied the photo of the white Nexus 5 with the words “In white.  11/1.”

With November 1 looking more and more likely as the Nexus 5’s release date, that makes an October 31 launch, or announcement date very possible at this point.  The Nexus 5’s rumored specifications include a 5-inch, 1080p display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and an 8-megapixel rear camera.  Internal storage options may be bumped up to 16 GB and 32 GB, from last year’s 8 GB and 16 GB options.
