Sleek new SUVs Predominate Shows at New York auto show

Auto shows might be waning in significance as companies find other methods to present new products, however, the New York International Auto Show has a collection of new car debuts.

TOYOTA HIGHLANDER

But Subaru says it gets a considerably stiffer frame, an optional 260-horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a reworked standard 2.5-liter motor that sets out 182 horsepower — seven more than the present version. All are conducive to transmissions.

The Outback is constructed on the new underpinnings of Subaru, with more powerful collision protection, improved handling and a smoother ride, the company says.
